Assessment criteria
See Moodie for specific rubric
- Topic selected is broadly introduced with key terms defined, the importance of the topic discussed and the connection between the research papers concisely outlined.
- The author, article title, publishing journal, year of publication, sport context and participant ability level details, where required, are explicitly specified.
- The premise, design, findings and outcomes of each paper are logically and appropriately presented, discussed, analysed, evaluated and cross-referenced. A table is produced to provide an overview of the critique.
- The strengths and weaknesses are noted and referenced where necessary.
- Discussion section – should show critique of the concepts themselves (i.e. further than just the Methods), overall practical implications, future research and cross-referencing between the 3 studies. This will be the section where you can show your ability to synthesise the critique and outcomes of the 3 studies.
- A concluding overview summarises what is currently known and the implications for future practice are stated.
