You will create a SHORT RESEARCH REPORT regarding the Housing Affordability issue in the GTA (Great Toronto Area).
SCENARIO & ASSIGNMENT:
You have been hired as a co-op student by ACORN Canada, a multi-issue organization that believes social and economic justice can be best achieved by building community power for change.
Your manager has asked you to prepare a research report that shows the increasing prices of all types of housing in the GTA and the impact those increases are having on residents.
Your research report MUST contain the following sections within 2-3 pages:
- Purpose Statement
- Introduction and summary background of report’s topic
- Analysis of Research and Reported Findings/Conclusions/Issues
- Recommendations or Solutions
- Closing •Explain the significance of the report and what action needs to be taken.
Other things to consider:
- Formatting: Your report most demonstrate application of good report organization and structure with the use of bolding, font type & size, headlines & subtitles, indenting, bulleted or numbered lists, and line spacing.
- Visual Aids: Your report must include a minimum of 3 relevant visual aids effectively placed within the research report.
- Research: The information in your report must come from credible research sources. Use the TRAAP model and APA guidelines for integrating and citing research in your work.
- Editing: Use the provided checklist and examples from learning materials to ensure you have completed the report correctly and coherently.
