Creating our first blog

Objective
This assignment will have you do the following:
- Watch/read the brief pieces of media about Edward Snowden mentioned below.
- Write a brief blog posting (You can use WordPress or any blog that you wish) in which you summarize some of the key points from each clip, and then give your opinion about whether Snowden is a hero or a villain.
- Come up with a creative title for your piece, using the following format: Artifact 1: <Title>.
- Submit your blog posting to Brightspace as a .doc or .pdf document.
I will then give you feedback on it, so you know that you are on the right track for the final e-portfolio. You may use this blog as one of your entries for the final work.
Structure
Paragraph One: Summarize some of the key ideas you accessed via the video. Ensure that you hyperlink each piece of media into the blog. For example: In the interview with Shane Smith from Vice TV, Snowden remarks that… To hyperlink, copy (CTRL+C or COMMAND+C [for Apple users]) the link to the specific piece of media. Then, in your word document, highlight the word or words you wish to be the hyperlink. Right click, the hit the ‘hyperlink’ option. Paste the web link in the box provided.
Paragraph Two: Explicate whether you agree with Snowden’s course of actions. You should answer the following questions in your paragraphs:
- Is what Edward Snowden did heroic? Why or why not?
- Do you feel as though he should be punished for his actions?
Paragraph Three: Explain what the implications of Snowden’s actions might be. Based on this, do you think that there is any such thing as privacy in online settings?

- Add screenshots of your blog page and link to your blog.
- You may add same content in the report.
- Your blog must be presented in class for evaluation. Also, the report should be submitted in Brightspace before 4:30 pm
